NBA Jam picks, the Knickstop edition

Hello all,

So after reading Marc Stein's weekend dime
I decided to give you guys my picks, because there are some disagreements between me and Mr. Stein. Plus, I am an actual video game fanatic, so I think I have a leg up on Stein in this category. (I still play NBA Jam at my school from time to time) So, here you guys go, my NBA Jam 2010 player picks!

ATLANTA HAWKS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Dominique Wilkins and Stacey Augmon

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Mike Bibby, Marvin Williams,Al Horford and Jamal Crawford

Stein's Picks: Johnson, Smith and Crawford

Knickstop's Picks: Johnson, Smith and Crawford

no disagreement here between me and Stein. This team will be mighty dangerous when the game comes out.

BOSTON CELTICS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Reggie Lewis and Kevin McHale

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo,Rasheed Wallace and Kendrick Perkins

Stein's Picks: Garnett, Pierce and Rondo

Knickstop's Picks: Garnett, Pierce and Allen

Sorry guys, going to have to go with the Big 3 here. It's just too tempting when I think about Allen, Pierce and Garnett playing together like they are in their primes.

CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: N/A

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson, Tyson Chandler,Boris Diaw, D.J. Augustin and Raymond Felton

Stein's Picks: Wallace, Jackson and Diaw

Knickstop's Picks: Wallace, Jackson and Felton

I think Felton deserves a spot on here over Diaw. He just hasn't been impressive lately like Felton has. Although I do agree with the committee of one that there better be a cheat code to get MJ in this game :)

CHICAGO BULLS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Kirk Hinrich, Taj Gibson and John Salmons

Stein's Picks: Rose, Deng and Noah

Knickstop's picks: Rose, Deng and Noah

No disagreement here

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Mark Price and Brad Daugherty

2010 EA Sports Ballot: LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal, Antawn Jamison,Anderson Varejao, Anthony Parker and Mo Williams

Stein's Picks: James, O'Neal and Varejao

Knickstop's hopeful picks: O'neal, Varejao and Williams (see NYK)

Knickstop's "based on today" picks: James, O'Neal and Williams

Knicks fans, you know why I put my hopefuls up. But lets just say James is still on the Cavs after this summer (and I didn't happen to walk into oncoming traffic) I would say Williams deserves the spot more than Varejao. He is a better player and you always have to look at threes in NBA jam, which Williams can provide. I mean do you guys really want to play as Lebron and surround him with 2 centers?

DALLAS MAVERICKS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Derek Harper and Mike Iuzzolino

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Caron Butler, Shawn Marion,Jason Terry and Brendan Haywood

Stein's Picks: Nowitzki, Kidd and Marion

Knickstop's picks: Nowitzki, Kidd and Marion

I had to think about it before typing out Marion, because Terry is a vital part of that team and he would be really fun to play as, but just thinking about Marion's sick dunks in the new Jam gets me too excited to leave him off.

DENVER NUGGETS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: LaPhonso Ellis and Dikembe Mutombo

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Kenyon Martin,J.R. Smith, Nene and Chris Andersen

Stein's Picks: Anthony, Billups and Martin

Knickstop's Picks: Anthony, Billups and Anderson

This one really got me pissed. So because Martin came back from microfracture surgery he is the pick for the 3rd spot? Please. Taking nothing away from Martin's accomplishments, but I'd much rather see the Birdman or Smith in this game, think about that for a second, the Birdman in this game. I'm already excited.

DETROIT PISTONS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Isiah Thomas and Bill Laimbeer

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Rip Hamilton, Ben Gordon, Tayshaun Prince, Charlie Villanueva, Rodney Stuckey and Ben Wallace

Stein's Picks: Hamilton, Prince and Wallace

Knickstop's picks: Hamilton, Prince and Gordon

I see why Stein picked the 2004 Pistons to represent, but I think Gordon has too much potential in NBA Jam to leave him off this list. I have always been a huge Gordon supporter and I think he would be awesome on the Knicks

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Tim Hardaway and Chris Mullin

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Monta Ellis, Corey Maggette, Stephen Curry, Andris Biedrins, Anthony Randolph and Anthony Morrow

Stein's Picks: Ellis, Curry and Morrow

Knickstop's Picks: Ellis, Curry and Morrow

I'm going to leave Steinymoes picks for now, but I wonder what my opinion would be if Randolph was still playing...

HOUSTON ROCKETS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Hakeem Olajuwon and Kenny Smith

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Kevin Martin, Yao Ming, Shane Battier, Aaron Brooks,Luis Scola and Trevor Ariza

Stein's Picks: Martin, Yao and Brooks

Knickstop's Picks: Ariza, Yao and Brooks

Sorry, not the biggest Martin supporter, I don't think he's a winner and I want to have Ariza on my team stealing balls from my opponents

INDIANA PACERS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Reggie Miller and Detlef Schrempf

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Danny Granger, Mike Dunleavy, T.J. Ford, Dahntay Jones, Roy Hibbert and Brandon Rush

Stein's Picks: Granger, Jones and Hibbert

Knickstop's Picks: Granger, Dunleavy and Ford

I agree with Stein on one thing... How they kept Murphy off this list is beyond me. But I would rather have a Granger Dunleavy Ford tandem for the Pacers than Hibbert and Jones. (Believe me, I used the Pacers in NBA 2k9 for a while and went on a 14 game winning streak with them online)

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Ron Harper and Danny Manning

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Baron Davis, Blake Griffin, Chris Kaman, Eric Gordon,Steve Blake and Marcus Camby

Stein's Picks: Davis, Griffin and Kaman

Knickstop's picks: Davis, Griffin and Gordon

Sorry, I would rather have Gordon throwing down dunks and draining 3's than Kaman's bald head running around

LOS ANGELES LAKERS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Vlade Divac and James Worthy

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Ron Artest,Andrew Bynum and Derek Fisher

Stein's Picks: Bryant, Gasol and Odom

Knickstop's Picks: Bryant, Gasol and Odom

agree with Stein, but I wouldn't be offended if they switched Odom with Artest

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: N/A

2010 EA Sports Ballot: O.J. Mayo, Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Ronnie Brewer

Stein's Picks: Mayo, Randolph and Gay
Knickstop's Picks: Mayo, Randolph and Gay

Another agreement with Stein, and I agree with him also that this team will be a force to be reckon with

MIAMI HEAT

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Glen Rice and Rony Seikaly

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Dwyane Wade, Michael Beasley, Jermaine O'Neal,Udonis Haslem, Mario Chalmers and Quentin Richardson

Stein's Picks: Wade, O'Neal and Haslem

Knickstop's Picks: Wade, Wade and Wade

I couldn't resist... Ok seriously now

Knickstop's Picks: Wade, O'Neal and Beasley

I think Beasley is the obvious choice over Haslem, although I might get some disagreement there. I just remember Beasley's Christmas game where he tore us apart and I think he's a much better pick than Haslem

MILWAUKEE BUCKS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Blue Edwards and Brad Lohaus

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Michael Redd, Andrew Bogut, Brandon Jennings, Luke Ridnour, Hakim Warrick and Ersan Ilyasova

Stein's Picks: Redd, Bogut and Jennings

Knickstop's Picks: Redd, Bogut and Jennings

agree with Stein here

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Christian Laettner and Chuck Person

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, Jonny Flynn, Corey Brewer,Ryan Gomes, Ramon Sessions

Stein's Picks: Jefferson, Love and Flynn

Knickstop's Picks: doesn't matter they suck

Unless they put Darko on the team for unintentional comedy, I could care less

NEW JERSEY NETS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Derrick Coleman and Drazen Petrovic

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, Yi Jianlian, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Rafer Alston and Courtney Lee

Stein's Picks: Harris, Lopez and Lee

Knickstop's Picks: See T-Wolves

NEW ORLEANS HORNETS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Larry Johnson and Kendall Gill

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Chris Paul, David West, Peja Stojakovic, Emeka Okafor,Devin Brown and Marcus Thornton

Stein's Picks: Paul, West and Stojakovic

Knickstop's Picks: Paul, West and Thornton

I have to admit, a twosome of Thronton and Collison is awfully fun to think about but it isn't even an option on here. I guess they didn't want to risk not getting Paul on this game. As much as I was tempted to put Stojakovic over Thorton for 3 point shooting purposes, Thornton is just too good to leave off.

NEW YORK KNICKS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Al Harrington, Danilo Gallinari, David Lee, Wilson Chandler, Tracy McGrady and Chris Duhon

Stein's Picks: Gallinari, Lee and McGrady

Knickstop's Picks: James, Bosh and Johnson

These are my picks and you can't tell me differently!... No i'm not changing it... No you cant make me!... Oh fine

Knickstop's "if the game was made today" Picks: Gallinari, Lee and Chandler

Sorry, McGrady sucked too much this year for me to have him on the list over Wil the Thrill. Think of the dunks Chandler will be throwing down! This will be the first team I play as when the game comes out, especially if my first picks come through :)

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Shawn Kemp and Benoit Benjamin(Seattle)

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook, Thabo Sefolosha,Nenad Krstic and James Harden

Stein's Picks: Durant, Green and Westbrook

Knickstop's Picks: Durantula, Green and Westbrook

No disagreement here, on another topic, i absolutely love the name "Kevin the Durantula." Agree?

ORLANDO MAGIC

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Shaquille O'Neal and Scott Skiles

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Dwight Howard, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson, Mickael Pietrus and J.J. Redick

Stein's Picks: Howard, Carter and Nelson

Knickstop's Picks: Howard, Carter and Lewis

I think Lewis would be too fun in this game to leave him off over Jameer Nelson. Think of the dunks and the threes. This team will be tough to beat, especially with Dwight's blocking ability.

PHILADELPHIA 76ers

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Hersey Hawkins and Jeff Hornacek

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand, Allen Iverson, Lou Williams, Marreese Speights and Thaddeus Young

Stein's Picks: Iguodala, Brand and Iverson

Knickstop's Picks: Iguodala, Young and Iverson

I haven't agreed on Stein's "sentimental" picks so far, but the thought of Iverson in this game makes me too excited to leave him off. I also think Young is too good to pass up for the struggling Brand.

PHOENIX SUNS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Charles Barkley and Dan Majerle

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Jason Richardson,Grant Hill, Channing Frye and Leandro Barbosa

Stein's Picks: Nash, Stoudemire and Hill

Knickstop's Picks: Nash, Stoudemire and Richardson

Sorry Stein, I dont love Hill that much to leave him off for the dunktastic Richardson. (yes I made that word up.)

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden, Andre Miller, Marcus Camby and Martell Webster

Stein's Picks: Roy, Aldridge and Oden

Knickstop's Picks: Roy, Aldridge and Oden

No disagreement here

SACRAMENTO KINGS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Wayman Tisdale and Spud Webb

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Carl Landry, Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson, Spencer Hawes, Beno Udrih and Andres Nocioni

Stein's Picks: Landry, Evans and Thompson

Knickstop's Picks: Landry, Evans and Nocioni

I think if you added Nocioni on this team they would be a lot more fun and dangerous than Thompson. The team already has Landry, why have 2 big men when you can have a 3 point specialist like Nocioni?

SAN ANTONIO SPURS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: David Robinson and Sean Elliott

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, George Hill and Antonio McDyess

Stein's Picks: Duncan, Parker and Ginobili

Knickstop's Picks: Duncan, Parker and Ginobili

No disagreement here, I would love to see the big three in this game, although there has to be a cheat code where they can't dunk at all, or do anything exciting for that matter.

TORONTO RAPTORS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: N/A

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Chris Bosh, Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Hedo Turkoglu, Jarrett Jack and DeMar DeRozan

Stein's Picks: Bosh, Bargnani and Turkoglu

Knickstop's Picks: Lee, Bargnarni and DeRozan

Once again my hopeful picks if we can work out a sign and trade. If we don't just switch Lee with Bosh obviously. I think Derozan is a better NBA Jam player than Turkoglu.

UTAH JAZZ

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Karl Malone and John Stockton

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Mehmet Okur, Andrei Kirilenko, C.J. Miles and Paul Millsap

Stein's Picks: Williams, Boozer and Kirilenko

Knickstop's Picks: Williams, Boozer and Kirelenko

no disagreements here

WASHINGTON WIZARDS

Original 1993 NBA Jam Twosome: Tom Gugliotta and Harvey Grant

2010 EA Sports Ballot: Randy Foye, Mike Miller, Josh Howard, Andray Blatche,Nick Young and Al Thornton

Stein's Picks: Miller, Howard and Blatche

Knickstop's Picks: Foye, Howard and Blatche

This is not an exciting team, I like Foye a lot so I decided to put him on my team rather than Miller, but I probably wont even notice if they are switched...
